THORESBY (4)                 225-6

CAYTHORPE LINCS (0)      144-5

The curtain fell on another season as Paul won the toss for a third straight game and was rewarded with a third straight victory.

Ian and Chesh opened against a young Caythorpe team, Chesh playing a shot a ball. At one point both balls were lost but Chesh was also giving chances and finally he was caught. Callum and Ian then departed before Robbie and Paul put together a useful partnership. Both fell looking for quick runs, Simon hit a few good shots before he also fell as the overs were running out. This brought Hutchy to the wicket, he treated us to a display of "swafting" never before seen. His swaft drive being particularly superb.

In reply Caythorpe opted for batting practice rather than making a serious effort to win the game. Everyone bowled with Ian (hutchy) Smallwood and Chesh both taking two wickets. Young Luke also had his first bowl in adult cricket and was in fact unlucky not to pick up a wicket.

So we have ended up with a respectable league position thanks to four wins out of the last six games under Paul’s captaincy. At the end of the game Paul made a point of thanking all the players for their efforts.
