Thoresby (0)
192-8
Bottesford (4) 195-0
Well it did not get much better on the Sunday!!!!!!
Nige finally won the toss and Thoresby batted first
on a pitch that again was not at its best. Jonsey and
Chesh made a good start against a decent attack who were getting help from the pitch. Chesh
fell with the score on 59 but Jonesey kept going
helped by a number of players chipping in before he fell for a splendid 71. Nige and Rob ( whose innings was
transformed by a blow to the face, he had scored 6 from 31before and 19 from 10
after) then started to push the score before both fell in quick succession. Jono left with the tail then started attacking the bowling
to great effect, he found good support in Tony
(complete with darth vader
glasses) who played a few glorious shots. Young Luke saw out the final few
balls to save Paul another entry in the Duck table (robs rules hutch!!!).
The final total was thought to be a good one on a pitch that was not great.
After tea Thoresby’s bowlers with the exception of Callum and Tonys
first couple of overs served up an array of buffet
and party fodder that was disguised as bowling. In fact so poor was the
bowling that not a single chance was created. If it was not for some very good
ground fielding the target would have been reached even quicker than the thirty
overs it did take.
We really have to all try and raise our game for the remainder of the season
our more embarrassing performances like this will follow.
