Presentation
Evening 2004
The 2004 season was finished with a good
turnout at the ground on Saturday evening. Fortunately we were blessed with a
dry mild night and the evening kicked off with an excellent buffet prepared
with great care by Hillary and Debbie. This was served in the new
"Extension/Stage area".
Then
to the main event of the evening, the presentations. The 3 captains all said a few words of thanks
to their players and people who had helped out off the field. Jonesey made special thanks to Nige
for resigning as this was probably the main reason why the Sunday team stayed
up!!!.
Mr Derek Smallwood was introduced as our guest of
honor in recognition of his company, Business Healthcare’s kind sponsorship. He
then proceeded to present the following awards.

Mr Smallwood then went on to say a few words of
congratulation on what had been one of the club’s best ever seasons. He thanked
the club and said he was proud to be able to support it.
The Final award was the eagerly awaited
Walker Trophy and Rob managed to keep everyone guessing until he finally
announced the winner as Scott Dickens who had come with a late surge to take
the cup. Billy and Ben were the runners up with Dave Evans missing out this
year. Out of all the players who represented the club this year only Brian
failed to register for this most prestigious trophy.
Rob was finally thrown off the mike and
after a few technical problems the karaoke started and finished before Chesh finally closed up somewhere around 1.30am.
So season 2004 ends and
in due course we will look ahead to 2005.
